RACE INFORMATION

Promorun Trieste in liaison with the Municipality of Trieste and Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Council, organises the 3rd edition of The Castle Race, a road running competition ranked as FIDAL (Italy’s Athletics Federation) National Event including the REGIONAL 10 KM ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

The event will take place in any weather condition. Ambulance and medical support will be provided. The organising committee is not responsible for any harm to individuals and material damage occurring before, during and after the event. For anything not included in the present document FIDAL Competition Rules apply.

ENTRIES

ONLINE ENTRIES – closing on 21st October 2019.

Fees:

Euro 10,00 from 05.05.2019 to 25.08.2019

Euro 15,00 from 26.08.2019 to 21.10.2019.

F.V.G. Club Members: from 25.08.2019 online entry fee will be set at Euro 12,00.

The top 5 Senior Men and 5 Senior Women and top 3 of each Master Age Group will be presented with product type prizes.

The top 5 Clubs will awarded be according to the number of athletes of each Club completing the race.

10K COURSE

Miramar Castle, Viale Miramare, Barcola, Porto Vecchio, Corso Cavour, Riva Tre III Novembre, Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia, Piazza della Borsa, Corso Italia, via degli artisti, Via del Monte, via Capitolina, San Giusto’s Castle.

DRINK STATION

One drink station half way and one drink & food station at the finish area will be located for all runners.

ATHLETES REGISTERED IN ITALY – ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

According to FIDAL Event organisation Rules, 16+ year old athletes may take part if

  •  Athletes registered with Clubs affiliated with FIDAL in 2019
  • Athletes holding Runcard (sport cover and competition licence) if 20+ years old.

Participation is granted pending:

    a ) On athletes presenting the original copy of own Medical Certificate of Fitness to Athletics Competitions to the event organisers who in turn will keep a copy
    b) On Organising Committee’s verification of athlete’s fitness to compete in Athletics events through Runcard database
    c) On Organising Committee’s verification of athletes’ fitness to compete in athletics events through dedicated App
  •  Athletes Registered with EPS Clubs and therefore holding a Runcard-EPS:
  • Participation is granted pending:
    d) On athletes presenting the original copy of own Medical Certificate of Fitness to Athletics Competitions to the event organisers who in turn will keep a copy
    e) On Organising Committee’s verification of athlete’s fitness to compete in Athletics events through Runcard database
    f) On Organising Committee’s verification of athletes’ fitness to compete in athletics events through dedicated App

ATHLETES NOT REGISTERED IN ITALY – ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Athletes not registered in Italy, if 16+ years old, may entry the Event if:

  • Athletes registered with Clubs affiliated with Athletics Federations recognised by IAAF

OR

  • Presenting a self-signed declaration to hold a Licence recognised by IAAF.
  • Such declaration must be signed in person when collecting the race number.
  • Athletes holding Runcard (sport cover and competition licence) if 20+ years old only.
      Participation is granted pending:
        1. On athletes presenting the original copy of own Medical Certificate of Fitness to Athletics Competitions to the event organisers who in turn will keep a copy.
        2. Medical Certificate of Athletes not registered in Italy are accepted only if featuring the following: a) Medical Examination by a Sport Physician; b) Urine Test c) ECG at rest and post-exercise d) spirometry.
        3. On Organising Committee’s verification of athlete’s fitness to compete in Athletics events through Runcard database
        g) On Organising Committee’s verification of athletes’ fitness to compete in athletics events through dedicated App

TIMEKEEPING AND FINAL RANKINGS

        The timekeeping and the processing of the rankings is carried out by the Italian Timekeepers Federation; the same are validated by the Technical Delegated Judge / Appeal Judge.

TIME LIMIT

1h30’ ( 90 minutes).

APPEALS

Appeals must be presented according to FIDAL’s and RTI Rules.
