International Running Event
The Castles Race includes two running events:
- 10k International Race
- 8k Family Run
The location and lay-out of the course represent the stand-out feature of the event.
It stretches between Trieste’s two historical landmarks, the Miramar Castle and St.Giusto’s Castle which act as the course start and finish point respectively.
Previous editions of the event attracted world-class international athletes such as Kenia’s double Olympic Champion Ezekiel Kemboi and Italy’s 10k National Champion Ahmed El Mazoury.
In 2018 Italy’s World Champion and Olympic Medallist Fiona May, well known to the Italian public thanks to her outstanding achievements in athletics, agreed to be our Event Ambassador.
The Castles Race is an event for the whole community and supports charity fundraising.
Since 2018 it has partnered with BNL in the organisation of the Telethon Family Run, a 8k community run attracting sport lovers, families and active individuals to get together whilst donating part of their entry fees to research through Telethon charity.
